You are receiving this message because you have e-mailed us in the past
with questions about the development status of Berkeley Lab
    Checkpoint/Restart (BLCR) for Linux.

I am pleased to announce that version 0.4.0 just went up on our website
    at http://ftg.lbl.gov/checkpoint

This release adds the experimental Linux 2.6.x support that many of you
have asked me about. It is still only for ia32 (no Opteron yet, but I
am working on it). The 2.6 support is much less tested than the 2.4
kernel support. So, we'd really apreciate hearing of your success or
    failure with BLCR 0.4.0.

For the truely bold, you can uncomment a few lines in configure.ac and
the incomplete x86_64 (Opteron) will be available. Currently that port
can take single-threaded checkpoint but not multi-theaded. It also
fails to restart from any checkpoint, producing a General Protection
fault. If you are interested in helping with debugging the x86_64
    problems, let us know.
