    Tom:

I hear from Brent Gorda that you've been waiting for a version of our
checkpoint/restart code that handles file. Pardon me if I've been late
getting back to you--I didn't realize the ball was in my court.

The 0.2.2 version of our release at

        https://mantis.lbl.gov/twiki/bin/view/Whiteboard/CheckpointDownloads

has support for saving/restoring open filehandles (for regular files).
It's an experimental feature for now, so you need to use

        ./configure --enable-files

to turn it on at configure time.

We're very interested in supporting you if you want to use our
stuff--don't let the months go by if it turns out you're waiting on
something from me and you haven't heard back (I occasionally drop
    packets ;)

Keep me posted on any bugs you find, and/or feature requests you've got.

    Cheers,
